Chelsea J. Carter is an award-winning reporter, editor and news producer based in Atlanta.  

She previously worked as the senior planning producer for the Middle East and North Africa at TRT World. Additionally, she worked as an editor/reporter for CNN Digital, and a reporter and editor at The Associated Press. She is best known for her work on breaking news and her work in the Middle East, including stints as an embed reporter with the U.S. military.

 

Chelsea has received a number of awards, though she is particularly proud of her role in CNN’s coverage of the Arab Spring and the aftermath of the kidnapping of 200 schoolgirls by Boko Haram, which earned the network Peabody awards.

 

She has mentored journalism students from across the United States, Europe and the Middle East, and she has lectured at journalism schools and conferences.

 

She travels the world in her spare time and lives for the pursuit of the story.
